25.November 2007 - Jurien Bay thesecond

Arrived i Jurien Bay again after a two day train journey on the Indian Pacific from Adelaide. Arrived on the 25th of November. I am staying at a small holding looking after animals while the family go to NZ.For the first week I learned everything that I needed to know befor the family leave. The fire drill, looking after the swimming pool, animals, place and plants. Its quite a responsibilty but Im excited . Ther is another wwoofer here too a young girl from Austria and she has been very sick but on the mend. We,ve had 47 degree heat here, We,ve learnt to shoot. Seen a dolphin on the shore at the beach and done lots and lots of chores between feeding the animals. Marriane and David has had us over for barbies, even on Christmas day. We,ve gone to the beach a lot when the weather gets too hot and we experienced the new year in at the local town. Its really lovely here and its feels as if I live here. The baby kangeroos are mickey, banksia, roxy and nut meg and we feed them a special formular of milk four times a day as well as feeding the wild roos and the ducks, chucks and geese. Maria and me take it in turns at getting up in the morning early and we make a good team.We collect woolly bush for the gallars and for the roos.We travel into town to drop off the rubbish and for supplies too. Life is not dull as there is plenty to do. We keep in constant contact with our friends and family by email and phone.Ned the dog and Misty the cat also keep us company and they are a real joy. We don,yt have long left now and the time has flown by. I am blessed to be here and will never forget this adventure. Thankyou Jurien Bay
