09.March 2013 - Vietnam

Hello!

As we mentioned in the previous update we were on our way to paradise. The way to paradise was not easy though, but it should not be as it would otherwise soon turn into a waste. So as we said the flight there was stressful, but as we had checked-in into our guesthouse and went for a walk on the beach, we were soon wondering why we went there. The beach where our guesthouse was, Long Beach, was nothing special, even the beach we had seen on our way to Hoi An was more spectacular. But then the next day we rented a scooter to go on a treasure hunt looking for paradise! Both being inexperienced driving on two wheels (motorized it is, not on a bike) we came to a conclusion it would be the only option for survival if Franjo would drive. Just wanting to avoid comments on my driving skills! The way to apparently the most beautiful beach in Vietnam was a 50 minute ride over unsealed road, but we made it to Sao Beach. We have not seen that many beaches in Vietnam, so we cannot compare much, but it surely was the paradise we had been looking for. White sandy beach, with clear blue water, palm trees and fresh coconuts to drink from, what more do you want?! Sadly we only had two days on this peace of paradise, but we comfort ourselves with the knowledge that more of paradise will come when we get to the islands in Southern Thailand!!

After three adventurous weeks in Vietnam it was time to say goodbye and discover another interesting Asian country: Cambodia. It would be boring if the way to it would go fluently, so sit tight and watch out for our next exciting post!

Tam Biet!
