Winter projects 2013

05.March 2014 - Lahnstein

The MINERVA will be renamed HAPPINEZ when we get to Spijkenisse this month. The name panels are finished, all we need is the Champagne.
The bed was a bit short so I had to sacrifice two cabinet halves to extend it by 30cm. I have made two side panels with cubby holes for the head end of the bed for specs, books, etc. Also in production last winter were spice rack and shelf above the stove, and a drawer for the cupboard under the sink. All woodwork is made of plywood veneered with mahogani and varnished. The side panels will have to be on board to makesure they fit. The headboard will be veneered in situ as well. The cabinets for the captain's and rear admiral's seats will have to wait until we are in Roermond to see what storage we really need. Otherwise we will just clutter up the cockpit, which is a nice size, and was what attracted us to the boat in the first place.
