Museum Day Nr. 2

08.September 2010 - New York

Today I spent the whole day in the Metropolitan Museum of Arts and it is impossible to see everything in that time. Even two days would be barely sufficient I think.
They have about two million items in their collection and the building is really huge. Even its architecture is remarkable.
You can see sculptures from Egypt, Roman and Greek statues and arts from China, Japan, Korea and African countries. They have paintings from Europe, America and other continents. My favourite collection are the musical instruments from all over the world including the world's oldest fortepiano and the golden drum of Ringo Starr.
Many rich people like Robert Lehman have donated their collections to the Museum and have therefor received their own exposition.
