New Years Eve

31.December 2009 - Sydney

New Year's Eve in Sydney... that's what almost every traveller's dream is here. That's why it's really busy those days, especially on the 31st. Some areas close to the Opera House are already full at 2 pm!
We (i celebrated with Gemma and Carlie, two friends from England and Herb ;) from Austria) decided not to go too close to the centre, in order to get a good spot, that would not be too busy. So we ended up in Waverton at 3 pm, a really nice spot with a great view. Could have gotten there a lot later, but it was worth it watiting for and we had a good time with loads of food ^^. The first fireworks were already at 9pm, so it shortened the waiting time a little bit. After that there was kind of a countdown: every hour they lit some fireworks and at 11.30 as well! That was cool!
The fireworks themselves are amazing of course, especially the Harbour Bridge is simply beautiful! Really had a great New Year's, the best one ever !!!!! :)
