Dunedin

03.December 2010 - Dunedin

Today MMaslen and I met up in Dunedin- so now we'd like to apply for "Most Southern SSIW meet up" :D (SaySomethingInWelsh)

Dunedin is a pleasant enough place, but in my view, it pales in comparison to Christchurch. To be fair, the uni campus is lovely- but the city centre itself lacks a focal point and it just sort of looks like a generic high street/ city. It's not a bad place, but to me Christchurch has it beat.

I went to the free museum and gallery today - I nearly went to the Chinese gardens, but they were not free (and given that I've been to lots of Chinese gardens in China, it seemed a bit pointless ;) ) I wandered about a bit, and bought some possum and merino socks. Possum fur, I hear, is one of only two natural furs in the world that is hollow on the inside, making it highly warm and cosy and insulating (the other is polar bear).

I know, I know, buying socks - whatever mad crazy adventure will I embark on next? It's just one adrenaline rush after another here!
