Again we had a long ways to go from Mount Rushmore all the way through South Dakota and then alongside the Iowa-Nebraska state line. Well we had forgotten about the time change from Mountain to Central time and so we came in very late around 10PM. Grandma Josiln had a very warm welcome for all of us in store and after a little while we all sat down next to a bonfire with grandma, Cherie and her husband Rick and chatted until we went to bed. The next day we went to Omaha to visit one of the best zoos in northern america. unfortunately we didnt have enough time so we cut our visit short and instead went to a mexican restaurant had margheritas and also some delicious food. Afterwards Brad took us to a pedestrian bridge that goes over the missouri river and we saw how bad the floods in the area really were at the time. Later in the evening Brad showed us around Omaha's old market area with it's restaurants and bars. Everybody really had a great time that evening :)
In the morning we got up and were served a delicious breakfast by Brad's wife Stephanie before we had to leave for Chicago. Thanks again to Grandma, Brad, Stephanie, Cherie and Rick for their lovely hospitality. We really felt very much at home in Council Bluffs!

Und wieder einmal so eine lange Fahrt! Von Keystone /Mount Rushmore gings durch den ganzen Staat South Dakota und dann entlang der Iowa-Nebraska state line nach Süden zur Stadt Council Bluffs wo wir einmal mehr von einem Teil der Familie Morrison herzlich empfangen wurden. Am ersten Abend hatten wir dann auch gleich ein Lagerfeuer im Garten von Rick und Cherie (Michaela's Onkel und Tante) und Grandma Joslin hieß uns herzlich wilkommen. Am nächsten Morgen bekamen wir ein tolles Frühstück serviert. Dannach gingen wir in den Omaha Zoo, einen der besten und größten in ganz Nord Amerika. Allerdings konnten wir nicht lange bleiben und sahen nur etwa die Hälfte davon (aber der Eintritt war frei...also nicht so schlimm). Dannach gings ins La Mesa, ein mexikanisches Restaurant wo wir anlässlich Grandma's 78ten Geburtstages essen gingen. Anschließend nahm uns Brad mit auf eine Fußgängerbrücke über den Missouri river von wo aus man das Ausmaß der hiesigen Fluten gut erkennen konnte. Am späten Abend fanden wir uns dann in Omaha's old market Viertel wieder, in dem es eine Menge Clubs und Bars gibt. Auch dort hatten wir wieder jede Menge Spaß bis in den morgen hinein. Nachdem wir aufgestanden waren genossen wir erneut ein tolles Frühstück von Stephanie (Brad's Frau) und mussten dann wieder weiter in Richtung Chicago.
