02.July 2010 - Alice Springs

We only spent a night in Alice Springs and the next morning, just before leaving, we got four free passes for exactly that day and those National Parks we wanted to go. On our way to the Ayers Rock, we picked up a german hitch hiker who joined us the following days until we were back in Alice. As mentioned before, the first day we visited the Ayers Rock. We didn't want to climb the Rock because it's something really sacred for the Aboriginies so that we surrounded it and then hurried for seeing the sunset from a bit further. The colours of the horizon changed so quickly while the sunset, that it was hard to take so many different pictures. This night we found a beautiful place to camp and we shared the cooking fire with other five travellers with whom we travelled together until Alice. We spent the second day in Kata Tjuta N.P. for seeing the Olgas which were unbelieveably more impressive than the Uluru. Oh! I didn't tell you how we got into the national park, did I?^^ Well, only David paid because he drove the car into the park and we walked through the desert for 45 minutes until we saw the car waiting for us on the side of the road =) At the end, we divided the $25 entrance fees by 5 people and everything was cool x) The third and last day, we drove altogether to Kings Canyon which was even more impressive than the Olgas *hehe* After the four hours walk around the Canyon, it was getting dark and we had to hurry because we still had to cook. While eating, Lucia said that she'd seen one of the most poisonous spiders in the toilets...Not even five seconds passed and I was in the car *lol*
This last night before Alice, We slept in the nowhere! There was knee high dried grass, bushes, a few trees and a small red dirt road in front of our parked cars... It was soooo cool! =)
