This city smells like old eggs

12.February 2009 - Rotorua

What to say about this city?,it smells like rotten eggs, because of the geothermal activity under the ground.
On the road we found a motel! And it was not so cheap than the other places we stayed before, but we wanted to chill out at a nice place.
In our room we had to big beds, Sky TV, wireless internet and a own kitchen.
The best was the big bathroom with a spa tub.
Our motel also had private thermal pools, that were the places we chilled out the most of the time.
In morning time we went to Wai-O-Tapu to see a geyser.
The geyser errups every day at around 10 o?clock. There were 200 people or even more, waiting till the geyser starts.(really touristy)
After that we did a 2h walk and saw a lot of interesting mud and boiling craters and pools.
At midday we visited the Paradise Valley. It was the first time that we came so close to lions.
We made some awesome photos and we touched them.
Rotorua is also famous for the traditional Maori shows.
We decided to go to an old Maori Village, where we learned something about there culture and their tribes. We also had a traditional dinner which was cooked on earth ovens with them.
