crazy India...

07.December 2009 - Trivandrum

Just when we arrived in India, we bumped into the craziest people alive. Lily was a writer and lived with her son Hanson who was a painter. At least that's what they said. We found out the truth bz taking a rickshaw with them to their house where they invited us for a spontaneous diner of leftover KFC-like food. Both were so amazingly friendlz but also damn crazy at the same time. As soon as we got into the house, Hanson started showing us his paintings. The biggest one was of the siking Titanic and looked like painting after numbers from a 5-year-old. He showed us many more pictures which he had taken from magazines and postcards, followed by tons of sketches of peace bringin objects or buildings. He had it all planned out: what building he was going to build where and with what company. He wanted to cooperate with Toyota and ford for a battery/solar vehicle and wanted to build peace buildings in Australia and the EU. Big plans for that poor guy with mental problems, getting electrocuted, now living with his mother again who thus missed all the international book prize meetings... Hanson also told us about his extreme passion for Steffi Graf, the German tenis player. He sent her many love letters already, but she never replied... By the time he told us about his project building a flying saucer that will bring peace to the world, anybody would be crying tears. We stayend strong and even listened when he got very very aggressive about Obama stealing his Nobel Prize of Peace. Since it is to Hansons credits that East & West Germany got reunited, with the book he didn't publish yet, he definitely deserves the Nobel Prize... He doesn't worry too much about not getting the prize now, because people wil surely aknowledge him after death anyway...
Being through all that we tried leaving at one point. In the same second Lily appeared with tons of drafts for jewelery design. Both of them were then raging against each other, fighting for our attention. We had to listen to Lily screaming her poems while Hanson impressed us with the material for his flying saucer of peace, which got disturbed by Lily showing pictures of her jewelery design in front of our faces and Hanson getting hysterical about Lily and so on...

We survived both of them and even got a police escort home. They were probably wondering where we were coming from and scared the pants of our rickshaw driver...

Besides the crazy people and amazing Keralan food, Trivandrum was not really the place to be and we decided to move on soon...
