Time of your Life

16.February 2013 - Sydney City

Before my trip to Australia, I've always asked myself how the time in Sydney would be like. Now I can say, that my expectations are more than just beated. Life in Student House is even better, than my time in the host family. We are like a little family, cooking together, going out together, and so on...just a great time. We were lucky with the weather the weak before last week, this week was a little bit special weather, always changing. But despite of that fact, we had some legendary moments, whether during the day or in the night. I'll tell you some storys:

One day, we skiped school in the afternoon and went to Manly to surf and swim in the sea. Unfortunately, the sea was full of Seagrass and alges. Despite of that, we spend a good time at the beach. A Spanish friend hired a Surfboard, and we did some more or less succesful tries to stand up in the waves. By the way, I'm not sure if I already talked about that, but I bought myself a GoPro. That is a small camera, which you can take in the water and do a lot of other stuff. It is just great fun to make pictures and movies in the water. However, later this day we did a Barbecue in Shelly Beach, thats directly beside of Manly. I guess everybody in Australia loves to make Barbecues and so we were not suprised for not beeing alone at this place. After everybody have had enough, we went back to Sydney by ferry. I did some astonishing pictures with my camera, fortunately I had the right settings for pictures at night :)

Another great experience was the visit on the Sydney tower. In a height of 300m, you can enjoy a view over the whole city. Because of some troubles with the lift, we were a little bit to late and missed the sunset. But in spite of that, we saw Sydney by night, something you can't really describe - just awsome.

Almost everyday, we are cooking together in our house. It is great fun, sometimes not very healthy, but my cooking skills improve from day to day. Most of the time, we do Pasta (because its easy and cheap :D(, but sometimes we can show our creativity with Sauces and special meals.

We had some big partys in the last time, too. One day, we were in Chinese Laundry, that is a nightclub in the heart of Sydney, until 3 o'clock. It was awsome, one of the biggest clubs I have been to. Last thursday, we were in the Ivy club. The entry was free, maybe that is the reason why only the top floor was opened. Because it was outside and it was raining, everybody was wet after some minutes. But we didn't stop the party and went on until late in night. There was a huge pool in the middle, and after some beers people used to push each other to the pool. Everybody laugh about it, but the security wasn't very happy about it :)
Tonight is going to be legen...wait for it...dary :) Somebody knows the movie "Project X"? A friend of the school invited everbody to come to his host families house, which is located in Sydney harbour directly on the water, with a big garden and swimming pool. We guess, that there will be about 100 people who wants to have an unforgettable night. So I'm pretty excited about that.

School is going well. We had our first Mock exams. I was pretty good in it, despite it was only writing and speaking tests. Next week, we are having a full test. That will show me my present level in English.

Thank you for reading, I'll hope to write again soon.
