We used Airlie Beach as a starting point for our Whitsunday trips. One day we did a katamaran sailing adventure were we visited the most beautiful beach in the world - Whitehaven Beach. The weather was very hot, but cloudy. Therefore the beach did not appear as white as it normally does. But we really enjoyed the atmosphere of the dark clouds meeting the white beach!
On the other day we did a trip to the outer reef at Great Barrier Reef to do a full day of snorkeling. Very impressive! As we have no underwater camera, we can't share those fantastic fish and corals we have seen. This time we have seen loads of fish and very big fish! We couldn't get enough snorkeling and we will do more once we get to Cairns!
The other special happening was the daily visit of the Kakadus on our balcony, who joined us for breakfast. They neatly lined up on the handrail waiting for their turn! Haha! And on daydream island we have encountered a rather nosy kangaroo, who wanted all our food and did not refrain from sitting next to us on the sun loungers! We had troubles gettting rid of it!
