Magnetic Island is just off the coast of Townsville. It's a very small island, only 12km long. That's why we hired a scooter to get around for the day! It's great going on the scooter just with sandals and shorts - what a feeling! We enjoyed some of the sandy beaches and we even found a beach were we could swim without any fear of encountering stinger. Apparently on that specific beach the currents are to strong for jellyfish to be present. What a joy as the stinger season is not yet over.
