On Sunday afternoon I stepped on board the legendary Ghan. Sadly my train didn't have the famous locomotive. As I found out the next morning the red one had broken down in Alice Springs so they had to get another one.
it was nice inside, although being a backpacker I booked the cheapest category. Since we started at 3 pm the scenery was the same till it got dark. It got dark quite early about 7 without a spectacular sunset.
In the morning we had a nice sunset, but being in the train it wasn't easy to take photos.
I went into the cafe carriage gor breakfast. there I had a nice chat with a Canadian girl, a woman from Adelaide and a train attendant.
We arrived in Adelaide at 1.30pm about 1h too late.
First impression of Adelaide: it seems very green and there are quite a few old buildings.
