after staying three nights in Queenstown (one night I got really drunk so I had to recover one day :)) we continued to go to Lake Wanaka, before that there was the beautful village Arrowtown. You can easily spend a couple of hours in this small village appr. 25 km away from Queenstown. Its famous for the discovery of gold in the Arrow river and you can still try your luck in gold panning.
Finally at Lake Wanaka the weather was really bad, I wanted to do mountain biking, but it was just too cold, so we stayed for 1 night and continued the next day towards Franz Josefs Glacier
