The day after horseriding we travelled over the Andes into Northern Chile...our first experience of serious altitude and thanks to my hangover, windy roads and the altitude I nearly passed out at the Argentinian border at 4800 metres and embarassingly had to have 5 mins of Oxygen!!

Spent a few days in San Pedro de Atacama seeing some of the sights and eating surprisingly good but pricey food before starting our tour over the Bolivian salt flats and on into Bolivia. A visit to the Luna Valley for sunrise was a little disappointing and absolutely freezing when the sun went down...not recommended!! Our trip up to see the hot gueysers was better but a 4am start in the desert at altitude is not fun...its bloody baltic although at least I coped better with the altitude!!
