My next stop was a the medieval site Pérouges. This time I did not find this place via couchsurfing. When I stayed at the French host in Peyrolles I met a couple who were staying there as well. When I said that I was continuing my bike trip direction Lyon they offered me to stay over at their place.

So that is what I did. After an 88km ride I arrived at their beautiful little house in a very quiet area in the countryside.

I had a good time visiting the medieval fortress as well as the handball match of the son of the family I was staying.]]>

Vienne: Day 40
My next place to stay was Vienne, a small town 25km in the south of Lyon. I stayed for one night at Yves' appartment.

Yves was a perfect host. We had a good chat, he showed my lots of his work. He creates little video animations for companies.

He prepared dinner and we emptied some bottles of beer. Santé !!

The next morning Yves was already gone to take a train to help friends moving. When I went to the kitchen I found some croisants. Wow, thx Yves !!]]>

Valence: Day 39
After leaving Anne's appartment in Montelimar I qickly realized that I should have chosen another city than Valence as my next destination, due to the fact that I had a very nice tailwind pushing me forward. The distance to Valence was only 50km and I arrived there very early. I wanted to cycle much further but well, I had a place to stay.

I stayed for one night at a French family close to center of Valence. Father, mother and three kids. I saw a lot of paintings and the artist was Louise, the oldest of the three kids (15 years old). I asked her if she likes to draw a portrait of me and she agreed. The result was an amazing one, you can see it to your left.

We had a nice dinner and breakfast. I also enjoyed my first ride on a tandem bicycle together with Louise.]]>

Montelimar: Day 37 to 38
I arrived in Montelimar in the late afternoon after a pleasant ride through the French provence.

Anne was so friendly to host me for two nights. I planned to stay only one night but I enjoyed her place, so I decided to stay one night longer. We had a nice barbecue on her balcony. She had two cute pets, a dog and a cat. I love to have pets around me.]]>

Avignon: Day 36 http://www.mymapblog.com/dynamo/19_04_10/Day_36/ http://www.mymapblog.com/dynamo/19_04_10/Day_36/ Jouques: Day 34 to 35
Weather was not that good that day but at least not much rain nor wind.

I had problems finding a place to sleep but finally after 113km some French woman "saved me" :) It was already late and I saw the sign at here house (Gite) which means "French host". Unfortunately she was fully booked but she called about 5 other French hosts and finally she found Beatrix who had a free room.

I liked it very much at Beatrix' place, thats why I decided to stay for two nights. The breakfast was the best I've ever had. Jelly made of roses, wow, tasty.

I left Jouques under a blue sky and made my way to Avignon where I organised a place to sleep via couchsurfing.]]>
